S.A.A.R.A

Born in North London, multi instrumentalist, composer, performer and sound artist; S.A.A.R.A, began her career in music as a bass player. Over years, she honed her songwriting, production and performance skills through her involvement in a diverse range of projects including City Lights (garage rock), Ezra Bang and Hot Machine (guerilla funk), Ash Walker (trip-hop), Third Uncle (alt-indie) and, most recently Westerman (alt-pop).

Undertaking a MMUS in Experimental Music at Brunel University, S.A.A.R.A began experimenting with the role of sound in creating immersive environments exploring the perception of sound and its physiological effects.

Continuing her experimental practice and establishing herself as a songwriter, producer and performer, S.A.A.R.A fuses orchestral instrumentation with programmed beats in creating a fresh take on pop music that pays homage to her influences; Kate Bush, Björk, Grace Jones, Gil Scott-Heron.
